Fauna monitoring sites established on state forests

Over 300 fauna monitoring sites underpinned by scientifically valid methods have been established on coastal state forests. Autumn 2023 monitoring is now underway following the 2022 spring field campaign, with ecologists deploying a range of advanced sensors to detect forest owls and other birds, frogs, some reptiles and mammals including koalas, bats and gliders.
