Landscape vegetation plans

Summary

Through a Terms of Reference, the NSW Government asked us to advise whether it would be practical and beneficial for the then Catchment Management Authorities and private landholders to develop native vegetation management plans at the ‘landscape scale’ under the then Native Vegetation Act 2003.

In June 2007, we provided a final report to Government recommending a landscape approach to natural resource management. Our recommendations aimed to better support Catchment Management Authorities to work with regional communities and other stakeholders to improve or maintain the health and productivity of landscapes in their regions and across NSW.

An issues paper and a draft report supported our review.
