Cross-tenure, methods, data and reports

Under a former terms of reference from Government, we oversaw a cross-tenure monitoring program across state forests, national parks, private native forests and Crown forested land between 2019-2022.

Over $9 million has been invested generating new methods and data in partnership with over 100 scientists and institutions.

Program funding for cross tenure monitoring ceased in Financial Year 2022. Large knowledge gaps still exist despite the program significantly advancing the information base available to manage forests. We consider cross-tenure monitoring, based on consistent methods and datasets, is critical to reliably evaluate management effectiveness and performance.

Open data

In line with the NSW Government Open Data Policy, the program will release commissioned data and information for use by the community, research, business and industry. All program data will be made available on NSW’s Sharing and Enabling Environmental Data (SEED) portal or the Spatial Collaborative Portal.
