Commission advises Government on native vegetation matters

The Premier asked the Commission to advise on options to improve outcomes for critically endangered ecological communities and non-woody vegetation under the NSW Land Management (Native Vegetation) Code 2018. The Commission has provided two reports to the Government outlining its advice on both matters. The Government is now considering the advice.

This advice was requested as terms of reference under the NSW Plan for Nature. The Government has also sought the Commission’s advice on options to further protect and restore biodiversity and ecosystem functions in regional landscapes, while enhancing value and support for landholders. The Commission expects to provide advice on this matter to Government by June 2026.
